Recap: Kickoff Info Session

It was a night full of firsts for our Kickoff Info Session at Alumni Lounge in Memorial Union on January 22nd. Director of the School of Computing and Augmented Intelligence (SCAI), Dr. Ross Maciejewski, opened by highlighting the benefits of ACM membership based on his own SIG participation as well as the many opportunities available to computing majors on the ASU campus, in government, and in industry. The officer team followed with individual introductions as well as a presentation on the club, its benefits, and its events.

Thank you to our many student attendees in-person and online, who participated in trivia and, afterward, asked many great questions, as well as to our guest attendees, Dr. Yoshihiro Kobayashi, Club Advisor and Professor, and Kelly DeVos, SCAI Communications Specialist. With the event being hybrid, two-way audio-video chat was enabled throughout the evening thanks to a few who lent additional time to setup equipment.

Along with many memories, we gained valuable experience in hosting our first event providing us with many opportunities to learn, grow, and improve for our upcoming events!
