Arizona State Univesity ACM Student Chapter

Interests

In the interest of organizing the vast space of information spanned by computing subject matter, ACM at ASU identifies eight interest areas; two paradigms (component of the implementation of computing, aspect of the field of computing) each with four areas ({data, code, system, network}, {theory, applied, emerging, education}). Each interest area refers to pertinent ASU computing clubs, ACM special interest groups (SIGs), ACM at ASU programs (events and/or activities), commonly-held jobs, and college degrees.

The ACM itself organizes SIGs whose topical coverage is more focused. Some SIGs are active on the ASU campus through SIG student chapters. If an interest area and/or a SIG student chapter appeals to you, please share by completing this short form.

Even if SIG student chapters are lacking under an interest area due to lack of support, activities and events organized around a particular interest area are possible with sufficient support. Such activities and events might also be a good place for existing SIG student chapters under an interest area to share perspectives and resources. Here, one can find a suggested mapping of SIGs to interest areas.
